Peter Petrikat Award

Pete Petrikat was a long-standing beloved member of the Brainerd Kennel Club for many years. He trained and showed his Labrador Retriever and later his Belgian Tervurens. Tragedy struck in February 2000 when Pete and his dog Trigger were lost to us in a car accident. In his memory the club created the Pete Petrikat award. This award is given out annually to a club member.

The award plaque reads:

“Peter Petrikat, was a long-standing member of the Brainerd Kennel Club, who gave of his time and knowledge to help other with their dogs. His smile and upbeat nature were always a welcome presence. February 22, 2000, Peter and his dog, Trigger, were lost to us in a car accident. In memory of them, we present this award, yearly, to a fellow BKC member who carries on Pete’s tradition of positive attitude and helpful manner.”
